Peter is a San Diego based jazz guitarist, composer, arranger, recording engineer, producer, and life-long surfer; his performances blend jazz, Latin, and Brazilian influences. He has performed alongside Chick Corea, David Benoit, and Sergio Mendes, just to name a few. This Musical Showcase is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Ramona Library.

  • The San Diego History Center is presenting a special exhibition this summer commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States: "America at 250: San Diego 1776–2026." We cannot tell the full story of San Diego’s past 250 years without including the voices and perspectives of our community. We are excited to offer several opportunities for local Girl Scouts to participate in this historic milestone. Scouts who take part in our museum field trips will receive an America 250 patch. Engage your Girl Scouts in hands on activities tied to civic engagement and women’s history.   • The North County Climate Change Alliance invites you to join our monthly networking event! This meeting is open to individuals and groups who are concerned about climate change. We also welcome those who are looking to learn more about climate change and for opportunities to become more involved. The format is a casual round robin discussion.   • Fiddler Brittany Haas and her cellist sister Natalie Haas together join family forces to present a new acoustic, Celtic, chambergrass sound that defies categorization! The virtuoso sisters began their musical lives together, filling their childhood home with Bach suites and old-time tunes alike. It was on their own, however, following divergent paths through disparate musical traditions, countries, and cultures, that they both arrived as performers and composers at the highest levels of contemporary string music.   • Downtown Chula Vista will kick off the season with the San Diego FC Soccer Celebration, presented by Adriana’s Insurance, in collaboration with the City of Chula Vista. Taking place on Thursday, June 18 at Noon in Memorial Park, the event will bring the community together for an evening of soccer, local food vendors, and a beer garden where guests can watch the games alongside fellow fans. The celebration adds to Downtown Chula Vista’s growing reputation as a go-to destination for sports viewing, outdoor entertainment, and community gatherings throughout the summer.
