You will have the opportunity to explore the exhibition Reconsidering Rembrandt: Night Watching 2019 by contemporary Dutch photographer Rineke Dijkstra, hear talks on works in the Timken's permanent collection, and receive a lesson plan that supports and encourages the development of empathy in students. All attendees will have a chance to network with other educators over wine and light appetizers and receive free bus transportation to the Timken for their classrooms. In addition, you will be able to apply to have a professional teaching artist come to your classroom to teach a free art class (all supplies included).   • The Super Dentists love to celebrate the holidays, and this year, they will be spreading holiday cheer by transforming their Kearny Mesa location into a Winter Wonderland. Kids are encouraged to come dressed in their ugliest sweaters and enter a contest to win awesome prizes for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners, judged by DJ Rick Morton of Z90.3. In addition, there will be live music, a scavenger hunt, snow, cookie decorating, face painting, balloon artists, carnival games, and carolers.   • Oolong Gallery welcomes two artists to town with side-by-side solo exhibitions. Austrian abstract painter Markus Bacher will display large scale works that are vaguely figurative, vaguely landscape rendered in textured, muted tones periodically splashed with saturated yellows and other vivid hues. Claire Chambless, a recent Cal Arts MFA grad, will display a collection of striking sculptures.
