Monday, November 20, 21 & 22 from 9 a.m. – Noon Ages 3-6 welcome! Taught by a variety of skilled educators and professional artists, your preschool age child will go on seasonal explorations celebrating the abundance of Fall, observing and learning about various things in nature in our on-site organic garden. They will explore through sensory activities, crafts and stories while developing fine motor skills. Campers will make season-themed crafts in various mediums–clay, wood and textiles. Littles learn best by doing and playing. We practice handwork and workplay. We “play” with natural objects and materials such as wood, stones, clay, felt, paper + more! Each project is planned so that children build skills while satisfying their need to explore. Projects are safe, non-toxic, earth friendly, and full of creativity. It’s important that your child bring water in a refillable bottle and a snack (no candy or peanut products please) in case they are hungry or thirsty during this time. In addition, if your child is enrolled in a nearby camp elsewhere in Liberty Station in the afternoon, and their camp begins as ours ends, we are happy to walk your child to their next camp. If you’d like your camper to stay during the lunch hour, there’s a $15 fee for the week to cover the lunchtime gap. The Theatre School @ North Coast Rep presents the trivial comedy for serious people, "The Importance of Being Earnest" as its next student production! This masterpiece by Oscar Wilde is probably the most famous of all comedies. It revolves ridiculously around the most ingenious case of “manufactured” mistaken identity ever put into a play. Director Benjamin Cole is proud to present this pinnacle of playful parodies of the “leisure class” in the Victorian era. “The comedy of manners style is so clearly articulated in the back-and-forth banter,” Cole expounds. “We’re gleefully challenging our talented students with precision of physicality and vocal delivery,” he insists. Assistant Director Steve Smith adds, “We've kicked off most rehearsals with lessons on "Received Pronunciation," the most standard form of British dialect. Witty Wildean wordplay wouldn't sound right without the proper accents and our cast has had a great time learning and implementing new vocal techniques!” The show runs a daring 100 minutes with one intermission and hopes to tickle audience’s ears with comic charm and charisma. Additional production staff includes Student Assistant Stage Manager, Basil FitzGerald; Sound Designer, Caleb Foley; Student Assistant Director, Kate Goodman; Stage Manager, Paul Smith; and Lighting and Projections Designer, Liam Sullivan. San Diego County’s largest Thanksgiving day running event is back with fun, fitness and festivities on Nov. 23, 2023. The O’side Turkey Trot attracts visitors from 46 States and 460 cities and benefits the Move Your Feet Before You Eat!® Foundation. Those interested in running, walking or trotting through Oceanside can choose from 5-mile, 5K and kids run courses. Registration is now open for the 18th annual event. Course & Parking Maps The Trot will feature a costume contest, the largest teams competition and local live entertainment on the course. Trotters will receive race swag including finisher medals for all participants, free digital photos and participant shirts sporting brand new artwork that captures the O’side Turkey Trot spirit. At the 2023 O’side Turkey Trot, the race will continue its efforts in giving back to the Oceanside community, as the race itself raises money for the Move Your Feet Before You Eat Foundation, which gives funding to nonprofits that serve O’side residents.
