The beloved San Diego fine dining oasis Mister A’s has long provided a colorful accompaniment to the dining experience with art from long-time resident artist Marie Najera, infusing the dining space with curated pieces that help set the tone. As the restaurant embarks on a new era, the iconic San Diego hub will be hosting an art exhibition, selling Marie's pieces that the restaurant has had the honor of enjoying over the years. Painting professionally for over 22 years, Marie's mixed media work is a culmination of the stories of her life, a visual diary overlaid with the influence of her current inspirations. Marie's art has contributed to the guest's dining experience over the last several years. Pieces will range from $350 to $2000 and range in sizes of 18in x 18in to 4ft x 3ft. This one-time event is free and open to the public, and accompanying the art exhibition will be a spread of pastries and champagne that pair perfectly with sweeping views of the San Diego skyline. From the organizers: The exhibition is a collection of plant-based sculpture and assemblage created by Britton Neubacher, M.A. (B.A. and M.A. in Women’s Studies with a focus on community organizing) and full-time artist. Neubacher’s sustainably-minded work explores nature’s organizing principles of adaptation, integration, and renewal through fractal geometries and “suspended animation” materials. If I want to enjoy my process I will see them as collaborators and allow them to shape me back. The unparalleled musical talent of Stephen Marley takes the stage at the San Diego County Fair on Saturday, June 24! Stephen Marley is an award-winning singer, songwriter and producer. From his solo works to family collaborations and production credits, Stephen Marley’s music has earned him eight GRAMMY Awards. He is the second eldest son of reggae legend Bob Marley and Rita Marley, raised in Kingston, Jamaica. Stephen started singing professionally at 7 years old with his elder siblings Ziggy, Sharon and Cedella in The Melody Makers. Stephen has garnered recognition as a solo artist for his Grammy-winning albums "Mind Control" (dubbed “the best Marley album in a generation” by Entertainment Weekly), "Mind Control Acoustic and Revelation Part I: The Root of Life." Stephen continues to champion charitable endeavors centered in Jamaica as a co-founder of Ghetto Youths Foundation, along with his brothers Damian and Julian Marley. Hawaiian-raised reggae pop star HIRIE (born Patricia Jetton), boldly paves the way for women across all industries: she performs musical stages around the world, all the while preaching positivity, enlisting an open ear to those in need and remaining a loving wife and mother, to boot.
