Ongoing political focus on border security and safety has hampered the efficiency with which goods and services can flow between the two nations - a setback that has had ripple effects on the economies of either side of the border. Yet for many in San Diego, the full extent of this economic and cultural partnership remains relatively unknown. KPBS Investigative Border Reporter Gustavo Solis will discuss this relationship with a panel of experts, who will be taking audience questions. Join us for a delightful afternoon and book launch, “All the Bad Girls Wear Russian Accents” with poet and artist Jane Muschenetz. “ Written with humor and heart during the pandemic and the Russian invasion of her home country of Ukraine, Jane’s debut poetry chapbook is a poetic exploration of life as an outsider, our fraught relationship with societal norms, and our common humanity.
