A no-holds-barred narrative history of the iconic record label that brought the world Black Flag, Hüsker Dü, Sonic Youth, Soundgarden, and more, by the co-author of Do What You Want and My Damage. Jim writes about punk and pop culture for Razorcake — America’s only non-profit independent music zine. He also writes book reviews and author profiles for the Los Angeles Times and the Los Angeles Review of Books. Jim’s work has appeared in numerous publications, including The Believer, Electric Literature, Esquire, Granta, Hobart and Oxford American, and has received awards from Reader’s Digest and the National Endowment for the Arts. She and her husband, Barry McMahon Roshi are retiring and closing TTZC in 2022. She has 7 successors. Nicolee originated the Practice of Immediacy in the Arts® (PIA) an innovative means to access creative abilities. PIA does this by opening to our present moment-by-moment experience. Her book Arte of Now: Practice of Immediacy in the Arts is about this process. She is a retired marriage, family child therapist. She is married, and has two children, a stepson, and four grandchildren.
