Have you always wanted to tap dance? In our tap class, taught by Lindy Lyon, we will work on the fundamentals of tap dance in the feet and in the body. Each week, students will build on the skills learned the previous week as we broaden our step vocabulary. Students will also learn about major figures and influences in tap dance history. Students will hone their tap skills with an emphasis on musicality, technique, and playfulness as they learn a dance. This class is a great opportunity for beginners and returning tap dancers alike. Zolna Yachts is launching Nerissa Sounds, an intimate live music series hosted aboard their 73-foot yacht, to celebrate the season. Created by husband-and-wife team Shari and Amos Zolna, the series is designed to feel like a “secret concert at sea,” with just 49 guests on board for each cruise. The series launches Friday, August 15, from 7 – 9 p.m., with an evening of live Latin jazz, a curated coastal dinner menu, and sunset views during the 2-hour cruise. Limited to just 49 guests, Nerissa Sounds offers a rare opportunity to experience intimate performances by local artists in an elevated setting on the water. The debut event will feature San Diego Music Awards-nominated saxophonist Charlie Arbelaez and his four-piece Latin jazz ensemble.
