Maritime Museum of San Diego, with an international reputation for excellence in restoring, maintaining, and operating historic vessels, invites you aboard for an adventure day sail experience aboard San Salvador, a replica of Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo’s ship that arrived at the port we now call San Diego on Sept. 28, 1542. Few people have sailed on a 16th century galleon. Now you can. These 4-hour Sailing Adventures are for people who love history, and sailing. These one-of-a-kind day sails offer guests a chance to come aboard the magnificent galleon, San Salvador, and learn from on board historians the story behind the vessel and significance to our region.
