Students will have fun creating their own collage art piece, exploring composition, color, and narrative. Following introductions, students will be briefly shown examples of collage art and styles including use of color theory, composition, and surreal/abstract expression. An overview of the collage process, with tips for success, will provide students with structure and techniques to use during their lab creation time, during which they will experiment with layering and following “the next impulse.” Our time together will culminate in naming and showing our art and a ritual closing.
