Nearly 100 parade entries will roll, march, cycle, scoot and cruise down the Coast Highway on the most magical night of the year. At this truly special community celebration of the holiday season, thousands of people will be on floats and in bands with tens of thousands more cheering them on as the Encinitas Holiday Parade rolls along Coast Highway 101. The parade begins at 5:30 p.m. It is preceded by a 5 p.m. tree lighting ceremony with a brief appearance by Santa at the Lumberyard Shops courtyard. The theme of the 2024 Encinitas Holiday Parade, "Creativity in Motion," celebrates the vibrant spirit of innovation and imagination that flows through our community. From colorful floats to dynamic performances, we invite participants to bring their creative ideas to life in a moving display of art, culture, and festive cheer. When the ailing Alfred is quarantined, Alice encourages him to escape with her into their cherished book and journey down the rabbit hole to Wonderland. As they travel through the tale, "Alice by Heart" explores the poignancy of first love, coming to terms with loss, and finding the courage to move forward. This world-premiere musical encourages us all to celebrate the transformational power of the imagination, even in the harshest of times.
