  • In celebration of Filipino American History Month, Maraya Performing Arts is hosting a summit that offers educational master classes and professional performances for kids and their families who are interested in the performing arts and entertainment industry. The summit will feature a variety of activities, including introductory classes in musical theatre, acting, and various dance styles such as ballet, hip hop, breakdancing, and contemporary dance. One of the highlights of the event is the "Industry Kids" panel discussion, designed for children aged 4-17 years old who aspire to become professional performers on stage, in TV/film, and commercials. This panel discussion will provide valuable insights and advice from Filipino professionals in the arts industry, including former Maraya Performing Arts student and TV/film triple threat youth actor, Romi Herrada (known for Paramount Plus' "My Dream Quinceanera" and Disney Pixar's upcoming animated series "Win or Lose") and Kim Montelibano Heil, local Casting Director at The Old Globe Theatre. Attendees will also have the opportunity to enjoy snacks and lunch throughout the day. Additionally, Maraya Performing Arts is partnering with the San Diego Blood Drive to host a blood drive in the parking lot during the event, providing an opportunity for attendees to give back to the community. Maraya Performing Arts Studio is located at 861 Harold Place Suite #208, Chula Vista, CA 91914. One parent/adult is required to be present with their children. *Advanced registration is required, as there are very limited spaces available, and tickets may not be available at the door.* View this event on Facebook
