Repair your Plush! Join us for a heartwarming 2-hour workshop where we will breathe new life into your beloved stuffed animals! Whether it’s a childhood companion or a cherished gift, learn hands-on techniques to mend, reinforce, re-stuff and restore plush toys. As we stitch and stuff, I will share stories of healing and celebration as we transform sentimental fabrics into custom keepsakes that honor spatial memories. This workshop teaches the art of repair — a place where every stitch tells a story, and where life’s moments, big and small, are celebrated with love. It is recommended that you wash your plush toy ahead of time planning for plenty of time for it to dry thoroughly. Use your best judgement on whether it should go in the washing machine or be gently hand washed. The Beatles/I Saw the Photograph features the Vincent Vigil collection, including sixty photographs from 1962 to 1969. The collection began quietly in 1988, when Vigil attended a Linda McCartney photo exhibit and purchased two prints. A decade later, after studying photography and Museum Studies at San Diego Mesa College, Vigil turned his passion for the 60s group into a serious collecting endeavor; his goal was to tell the story of the Fab Four through the lens of both famous and unknown photographers. Alejandro Morales Riveron is a local San Diego contemporary artist whose work is rooted in culture, nature, history and community. This exhibition presents a poignant exploration of the intersection between art, community and environmental justice. Through a series of downsized pillars and prints, Riveron offers a visual commentary on the impact of air pollution on the vibrant Chicano Park neighborhood. *The exhibition is open to the public on the 2nd floor during library hours.
