  • The Foundation for Women’s Cancer (FWC) is pleased to host a Patient and Advocate Education Forum on Friday, March 15, 2024, 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. PT, in San Diego, CA, at the San Diego Convention Center the day before the start of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO) 2024 Annual Meeting on Women’s Cancer. The organization welcomes all gynecologic cancer (cervical, endometrial/uterine, ovarian, vaginal, and vulvar) patients, advocates, family members, and providers. The Forum is complimentary, and attendee registration is now open. This event will provide an opportunity for the creation of meaningful connections among patients, advocates, and healthcare professionals, all centered around a community learning experience where participants will: explore recent developments and breakthroughs in gynecologic cancer from renowned experts, share health and wellness best practices through a cancer journey, and join together in group movement activities.   • Please join us for an afternoon of great music, food and drinks. We're going to party with a purpose and raise money for Treat Them R+ght Animal Rescue. Treat Them R+ght Animal Rescue is a family operated animal rescue and sanctuary that is dedicated to the betterment of animal welfare. They are located in Lakeside and care for a wide range of homeless and neglected animals; including horses, dogs, pigs, goats and much more. You can enjoy cold beers and cocktails from The Ould Sod while listening to three amazing musicians/bands. The afternoon will start with Cruz Roots and their cool reggae vibes and killer energy. Our second musician, Boy Named Soo, will blow you away with his powerful voice and unique style. Our entertainment will conclude with the incredible vocals and acoustic guitars of Shoeless. We want to sincerely thank all of the featured musicians for donating their time and talents to raise money for Treat Them R+ght Animal Rescue. Throughout the afternoon and evening, you can delight in delicious food from our featured food truck, Big Oven Pizza. Their dough is house made and fermented using wild yeast over several days to give you that light airy buttery crust. Your pizza will be prepared and baked to order in their Italian wood fired pizza oven. In addition to all the food, drinks and entertainment, we will be having a raffle to help raise additional money. You can expect raffle items such as a $50 Cohn Restaurant Group gift card, a hand painted, one of a kind original piece of art from the very talented Krystal Dyer, a pawesome doggie gift basket from Noah's Natural Pet Market, and much more! Inspired by world-renowned artists, contemporary practicing artists, and our own exhibiting artists, we will explore different media, techniques, and subjects you may find in a practicing artist’s studio. This full day workshop held from 10:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. is meant to get you in the art-making groove and develop new approaches to seeing and creating artwork. Whether you have a lifetime practice or are new to expressing yourself, we exchange ideas and techniques in a supportive and challenging environment. Students of all levels are welcome to stretch their creative muscles and build community with us. *All supplies and light refreshments for each workshop are included in the cost. A break for lunch and relaxed discussion will occur midday. Please bring your own bagged lunch or feel free to visit one of the restaurants close by on our provided list.
