  • Join us for the celebration of MiraCosta College's Theresia M. Heyden Hall on the Oceanside Campus. The new building, named in honor of Theresia M. Heyden, a passionate supporter of nursing and generous donor, will provide a consolidated location and modern facilities for all Allied Health programs. Features include state-of-the-art simulation spaces, such as patient and operating rooms, along with hands-on skills labs and classrooms. Thanks to the voters of North County, San Diego, this project was funded through MiraCosta College's Capital Improvement Program using funds from Measure MM, the $455 million general obligation bond approved by voters in 2016.   • We are so excited to be having this wonderful show. I know there are so many people that have never been introduced to a wonderful collection of such a diverse type and era of doll collecting. The antique dolls dressed in original outfits are truly works of art and contribute to our knowledge of history. Seeing the newer dolls remind us of wonderful memories of our childhood play. There will be such a quantity of items that the collectors will surely find something they have been looking for like a new doll, a dress, or a wig. Come out and see.   • This is an exhibit organized by Art, Power, Equity at J. Walcher Communications. Lopez’s exhibition “Casa De Las Flores” opens with a reception and viewing on Saturday, July 13, 6-9 p.m, featuring a brief artist talk at 7 p.m. The show is open to the public every Saturday from 1-4 p.m. from July 13 through August 10, and during the week by appointment only, info@artpowerequity.com Lopez's exhibition features work consisting mostly of monotype and relief prints that are often hand embellished and resemble Mexican textiles. Kelvin creates what he calls contemporary “servilletas” (napkins) by adding embroidery and crochet borders onto his monotypes. This show will feature a range of monotype and relief installations as well as mixed media works featuring glass castings, grown crystals and live plants.
