Welcome To The 13th Annual San Diego Arab Film Festival! April 12 & 13 and 19 - 21, 2024 The San Diego Arab Film Festival is back for 2024 with live, in-person presentations of feature length and short films at the Museum of Photographic Arts at The San Diego Museum of Art. The festival will open on Friday, April 12, and present 8 screenings, each showcasing one feature film and one short film, from across the Arab World. Each evening, the festival will also offer cafeteria-style Arabic dinner. We are excited to bring these films to the San Diego community! Tickets are on sale now, with individual screenings at $15 (discounted to $12 for students), 3-ticket packages for $40 and passes for all 8 screenings for $80. Arabic dinners will be available each evening for $15. The San Diego Arab Film Festival (SDAFF) is a project of KARAMA, a local non-profit that promotes understanding of the issues of the Arab and Islamic world and of the Palestinian issue in particular. Prints and Pinot is fine art and wine appreciation at its best. We will be pairing delicious wine with USD’s impressive print collection for an evening of interactive art, opinionated gallery tours, and other forms of playful connoisseurship. Pinot Noir and Pinot Grigio wines are on the tasting menu for those twenty-one and older. Light hors d'oeuvres will be served. Space is limited.

The Pompom Project is a community art class that invites people to make yarn pompoms for larger art installations. This pompom project is part of a San Diego initiative to promote art and culture in San Diego. At this event you will learn how to make pompoms with yarn and a pompom maker. You will have time to make several pompoms and take one home. The rest will become part of a large public art installation in San Diego. Craftivism is a form of activism, typically incorporating elements of anti-capitalism, environmentalism, solidarity, or third-wave feminism, that is centered on practices of craft - or what has traditionally been referred to as "domestic arts." About the Venue: Oya Art Gallery is Located in Logan Heights and run by community leader Kim Pea. The entrance is located on Commercial St. Look for the staircase with Nina Simone Mural.

The 4th Candlewood Arts Festival includes a performance by Karla Diaz on Galleta Meadows centering community stories from Borrego Springs; a newly commissioned sculpture by Debra Scacco engaging the stories of water embedded in the land around Borrego Springs; the return of a sculpture by Pearl C. Hsiung inspired by our relationship to nature and the form of desert flora; and an exhibition of work by students at Borrego Springs High School and Middle School along side work by past Candlewood artists.
