A warming trend is heading to San Diego County today and will set in for the rest of the week and into next weekend, forecasters said.

San Diego County health officials released an updated water contact closure and advisory list for county beaches Monday.

The closure will continue until 5 a.m. Monday, July 1, for concrete slab replacement.

A group of Americans, including San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria and representatives from the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance, Wednesday joined farewell ceremonies in China for two giant pandas coming to San Diego this summer.

The fire was 50% contained Wednesday morning.

The county has recorded seven Mpox (formerly called Monkeypox) cases in May and June, mirroring 10 new cases reported in Los Angeles.

The announcement comes after a judge struck down San Diego's COVID-19 vaccine mandate, saying only the state can make that a requirement.

Earlier this month, supervisors unanimously voted to oppose any further placements of sexually violent predators until local jurisdictions are able to fully participate in the placement process, including having full veto authority.
