San Diego officials provided an update Tuesday on the latest road closures due to flooding.

Some of the highest totals: Oceanside at 2.77 inches, Fallbrook at 2.83 inches and Palomar Observatory with 3.30 inches.

More rain, winds and flood warnings is expected on Tuesday.

With rain expected to fall across the area Monday, additional shelter space was opened today by the San Diego Housing Commission and the city of San Diego to help the homeless escape the inclement weather.

Gov. Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency in eight counties in the state Sunday, including San Diego County.

The San Diego Housing Commission will continue to operate the center during the proposal and negotiation process.

Mayor Todd Gloria and City Council President Sean Elo-Rivera Wednesday announced an update to San Diego's climate action initiative.

The announcement comes after a judge struck down San Diego's COVID-19 vaccine mandate, saying only the state can make that a requirement.

Earlier this month, supervisors unanimously voted to oppose any further placements of sexually violent predators until local jurisdictions are able to fully participate in the placement process, including having full veto authority.
