
Elma González Lima Brandão
KPBS Digital EditorElma González Lima Brandão is the Digital Editor at KPBS. She leads an innovative team of web producers in creating, distributing and enhancing KPBS News digital content.
She formerly worked as a Software Developer and Digital Product Lead for KPBS and was responsible for managing products and projects for the digital team. She also worked as a multipurpose software developer contributing to and building external and internal apps. Previously, she also worked as a web producer for KPBS creating and managing digital news content. She started working at the station as the Gloria Penner Fellow and assistant news producer for KPBS Evening Edition.
Before joining KPBS, Elma lived in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, reporting stories for RioOnWatch.org and Latin Correspondent. She has collaborated with Bloomberg where she reported on e-waste in Latin America and she contributed to the PBS NewsHour's coverage of the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington in 2013. She is also an NPR Next Generation Radio Fellow. Elma majored in journalism at Ithaca College in New York and grew up in Chula Vista where she currently resides.
