  • KPBS has announced Matt Hoffman as the new permanent host of “KPBS Roundtable,” a weekly radio program discussing the week's top stories.
  • One Book, One San Diego has announced the selections for the 2022 region-wide read: “The Vanishing Half” by Brit Bennett has been chosen for adult readers; “The Magic Fish” written and illustrated by Trung Le Nguyen for teens and tweens; and “We Are Water Protectors” by Carole Lindstrom and illustrated by Michaela Goade for children.
  • Fresh Glass, a lifestyle series highlighting women and BIPOC innovators in food, beverage, and entrepreneurship, debuts September 15 at 8:30pm on KPBS. Created by Cassandra Schaeg and Theresa Hoiles, viewers will join Schaeg on adventures to wineries, breweries, and businesses created by women and BIPOC entrepreneurs.
  • Terence Shepherd has been named News Director for KPBS, San Diego’s NPR and PBS public media station. He will oversee a department of 45 editors and journalists. He will join the station on August 8, 2022.
  • KPBS is adding “Out of the Boondocks,” a new locally-produced docuseries, to its TV lineup. “Out of the Boondocks” celebrates Filipino creativity and culture through the lens of San Diego’s Filipino artists and innovators. The new series premieres on Thursday, May 5 at 8:30 pm.
  • Deanna Mackey, an executive leader and journalist with more than 30 years of experience, will serve as general manager for KPBS, leading the organization through its next phase of development.
  • KPBS has announced the name of its newly renovated building - “The Conrad Prebys Media Complex at Copley Center.”
  • “The Parker Edison Project” podcast is back for Season 2 with new answers to the question “what makes a culture?” Episodes will be released every two weeks on Wednesdays beginning March 9, 2022.
