Marine and Iraq War veteran Sgt. Austin Anderson is being hailed as a hero after pulling his friend from the wreckage of a plane crash Friday both initially survived. Sgt. Anderson later died in the hospital from burns he suffered in the crash.

The New York Yankees honored retired Camp Pendleton combat dog Sgt. Rex at a pregame ceremony on Sunday. Sgt. Rex was adopted by his former handler, New York resident and retired Marine Cpl. Megan Leavey, in April.
