Southwest isn't the only airline experiencing delays and cancellations, but it is by far the worst-hit, with about 5,500 of its flights canceled across the country in the last two days. -

The weather service said "life-threatening cold temperatures and dangerous wind chills will create a potentially life-threatening hazard for travelers that become stranded" or people who work outside. -
More than 200 million people — about 60% of the U.S. population — were under a winter weather advisory or warning on Friday, the National Weather Service said. Over 5,000 flights have been canceled.
