The MCRD Command Museum boasts one of the most extensive and comprehensive displays of Marine Corps historical items in the Nation. Thanks to the efforts of the MCRD Museum Historical Society and a grant from the County of San Diego's County Enhancement Program, the Museum now has 15 different gallery and exhibit movie presentations on the web site. The movies vary in length from 90 seconds to about six minutes and provide an informative and educational tour of the Museum. Mission To provide an educational setting that portrays the legacy of the Marine Corps for the training of recruits and the continuing education of Marines, that functions as a supporting arm to the recruiting effort, and that serves as a bridge to the civilian community. Admission Admission is free and military identification is not required, although admittance to the Depot requires a photo identification card, driver's license and proof of insurance if driving aboard base.
