Skate Rising is hosting free learn-to-skate lessons on Saturday May 13 from 9-11 a.m. at Encinitas Community Park. Founded in 2016, the program offers service opportunities and free skate instruction for girls ages 4-18 every second Saturday of the month. The youth program invites participants to bring soap, shampoo, toothpaste or other personal care products to donate to the Community Resource Center’s domestic violence services. Professional instruction will be offered by local pro and Olympic skaters and free rental gear will be available for all. Participants will have the opportunity to win prizes from Arbor Skateboards, Hydro Flask and Etnies.
