We are excited to announce a gathering to celebrate the Kumeyaay New Year on September 22nd!
The Kumeyaay New Year, which falls on the autumnal equinox, signals the end of the piñon nut gathering season and the start of the acorn gathering season! It arrives with the East winds(Santa Ana), when the land moves.
On September 22nd, join us at our student-built Kumeyaay village on Cuyamaca College's Campus for food, games, and cultural demonstrations!
Note: The Kumeyaay Village is located near the main entrance at Fury Road and Rancho San Diego Pkwy — located by the athletic fields, campus service and police (building A) and the adjacent nature preserve.
