California Seaweed Festival 2023

The California Seaweed Festival is an in-person FREE family friendly event celebrating the seaweed diversity of California! The festival will showcase seaweed uses and applications in art, cooking, farming, science, sustainable technology, and conservation. At the all-day event, we will have booths, exhibits, workshops, galleries, and hands-on activities to immerse you and your family in seaweed fun and knowledge. We also encourage the use of masks when in a crowded and enclosed areas, following the California set guidelines.
The California Seaweed Festival is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization all donations to the festival help the festival continue to grow and be held each year!

Immerse yourself in a series of thought-provoking panels, including "Seaweed under Threat and Opportunities for Restoration," "Art for Conservation," "Starting a Seaweed Farm in California," "Funding Seaweed Ventures," "Indigenous People's Forum," “New Programs at Community Colleges” and an engaging Film session that explores the power of visual media in conservation efforts.
Indulge in the vibrant atmosphere of our lively Beer Garden with seaweedy cocktails accompanied by live music. Explore the diverse offerings of our talented vendors and partake in cooking workshops. And let's not forget the selection of local flavors from the city's finest food trucks.
This is an event for the whole family to enjoy, learn, celebrate, and have the incredible opportunity to connect with esteemed seaweed experts. Join us for an unforgettable experience! The California Seaweed Festival is a free event, with a suggested donation of $15.00.
