Memento is an independent noir thriller that tightly follows Aristotelian story structure while unfolding the plot out of order. The film follows Leonard Shelby, a man with short-term memory loss who attempts to track down his wife's murderer. Medical experts applaud this film as the most realistic depiction of anterograde amnesia. The Library of Congress deemed Memento aesthetically significant and selected it for preservation in the National Film Registry. Directed by Christopher Nolan. Rated R. (113 min.)
