Join the San Diego Fixit Clinic in the City of Carlsbad on June 8, 2024! Bring your beloved broken items and gardening tools for a special fixit event! Coaches are ready to help repair your stuff between 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. The UCCE Master Gardeners of San Diego County will be sharing how to care your tools and offering a free cleaning and sharpening up to the first 35 attendees at no charge.

Learn how to:
• Mend your favorite outfit
• Repair road and mountain bikes
• Fix lighting, gadgets, and small appliances

Space is limited for this free event. First come, first served. RSVP today.

The UCCE Master Gardeners of San Diego County will be cleaning and sharpening one pruner or lopper for each attendee up to the first 35 at no charge. Pruners or loppers must be in good condition.

The Georgina Cole Library is a part of the Carlsbad City Library system. Cole library recently underwent renovations. Improvements include enhanced technology and Wi-Fi connectivity and power access, improved accessibility, additional comfortable gathering spaces, collaborative study and meetings spaces, a new Friends of the Library bookstore, new carpet and paint, a new elevator and a fire sprinkler system. The new study and meeting spaces will be equipped with technology and will be available by reservation or drop-in. A one-stop central service desk is also being added to better assist library patrons and a real-time material check-in system will improve efficiency. The reopening of the Cole Library marks the beginning of the second phase of the city’s library modernization project that also includes improvements to the Carlsbad City Library on Dove Lane. Stay connected with us through our e-newsletter. Carlsbad libraries circulate 1.3 million books, DVDs and other materials every year, along with providing a wide range of digital resources. About 85 percent of city residents visit the library in person or online every year, and 57 percent use library services on a monthly basis.
