- 10:30-10:40 a.m. “Trick-or-Treat” in the library with free candy for all kids in costume. In addition, the Friends of PQ Library will hand out “free book” coupons to kids in costume when they visit the Book Nook.
- 10:40-11:30 a.m. Learn about Diwali, the Festival of Lights, and enjoy making a Diwali-themed drop-in craft like a rangoli suncatcher.

Rancho Peñasquitos Library
As the 30th library in the City of San Diego, the Rancho Peñasquitos Branch Library opened in 1992, replacing a much smaller temporary facility built in the early 1980s. Library supporters advocated for a larger building to serve this rapidly growing community. The current 20,650-square-foot library features an open layout with plenty of desks and study spaces, along with an outdoor courtyard and large indoor children's area. Students and youth make up a large percentage of library users, giving the Rancho Peñasquitos Library one of the highest circulation patterns of all 36 City libraries.
