Celebrate Valentine's Day with your little ones and join DSCL as we read stories about love and all things Valentine's Day, and dance to some fun songs! Plus, have a bit of extra fun with a craft and coloring page.
Parking at the Library:
Ace is the parking vendor that manages the Central Library's 250 underground parking spaces. The following parking rates are currently in effect:
- First two (2) hours free with validation* for library users Validation is available in the first floor lobby.
- $1.25 for each 20 minutes or part of 20 minutes
- $21 All Day Maximum
- Only credit card payments are accepted
*Two (2) hours free validation will NOT be available after the special event parking rate start time. We encourage you to take the bus or trolley to the Library for Padres home games and other major special event days!

San Diego Central Library @ Joan Λ Irwin Jacobs Common, opened its doors to a new building, a 497,654 square feet on September 28, 2013. The New facility has over 400 computer devices, 22 study rooms, a charter high school, 3D printer (maker lab), auditorium, teen center, homework center, Veteran’s Resource Center, art gallery, rare book room, children’s library, café and much more. The San Diego Public Library collection consists of • More than 5.3 million books, including e-books, and audio-visual materials • 3,138 periodical subscriptions • 1.6 million government documents; and • More than 265,295 books in 25 languages other than English
