Saps at Sea, the San Diego Laurel and Hardy group, presents:
Ollie Feigns Illness to Attend Lodge Events!
Interestingly, we will show one of The Boys' best films, and one of their worst. Both feature women wielding shotguns. Come and see!
Saturday April 5 from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (Doors open 4:30 p.m.) at First Lutheran Church of El Cajon, 867 S Lincoln Ave, El Cajon, CA 92020
Admission is $10 and includes refreshments. Kids 12 and under are free!
Films include “Be Big!” (1931). Ollie pretends to be sick so he and Stan can get out of a trip with their wives and go to a lodge party instead...
We'll also show “Sons of the Desert” (1933). Once again, Ollie feigns illness. He and Stan tell the wives they are taking a cruise to Hawaii for Ollie to recover, but instead they go to Chicago for the Sons of the Desert convention!
Plus we'll celebrate the birthday of San Diego High School alumni Harold Lloyd (April 20, 1893) with “High and Dizzy” (1920). Lloyd is a doctor who gets drunk, then needs to rescue his beautiful patient who is sleepwalking on a ledge!
