Banned Books Week 2025 runs from October 5–11 with the theme “Censorship Is So 1984. Read for Your Rights.” Highlighting the rise in book bans nationwide, the theme draws on Orwell’s 1984 to emphasize the dangers of censorship and the importance of protecting everyone’s right to read.
