As part of Tijuana River Action Month (TRAM), come help native plants reclaim an area around the Tijuana Estuary Visitor Center. This is part of an ongoing effort to restore the habitat of the Tijuana Estuary and promote the biodiversity of the area. Specifically, we will continue the work from 2024 when the American Conservation Experience crew helped remove large areas of saltbush (Atriplex semibaccata) from the reserve. At this event, we will remove saltbush sprouts and we will plant coastal sage scrub plants such as, black sage, monkeyflower, bladderpod, and San Diego sunflower. LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED.
Ages 12 and older are welcome (minors must be accompanied by an adult and bring a signed waiver by their guardian).
Hosted by: CA State Parks Foundation, USFWS, and the Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve (TRNERR)
