On Sunday, Oct. 4, from 1-5 p.m., Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation will host a Multicultural Festival and invites the public to attend and celebrate a variety of cultures through food, entertainment and connecting with the community.
The festival with open with a land acknowledgement from Danza Azteca Kuauhkoatl, followed by a full line-up of performances by El Tesoro Del Folklor, Mariachi Orgullo Nacional, Naruwan Taiko Drummers, Junkyard Dance Crew, Errrverybodi Line Dancers, Thai dancers from the School of Thai Language and Culture, singer Karla Ruiz and more.
Attendees can dig into local dishes from San Diego vendors Mahalang Grill and Crafts and Taste of Lao Paradise. Plus, families can enjoy face painting, children's games and activities, a petting zoo and more.
Nonprofit and community resource tables will feature Community Wraparound, the San Diego County Registrar of Voters, the Black Chamber/Diamond Business Improvement District, Malcolm X Library, SAY San Diego, Family Health Center, Sharia's Closet, Sons and Daughters of Guam Club, Southeastern Kiwanis, and UPAC Expanding Horizons. San Ysidro Health will offer flu shots on a first come, first served basis.
This event is free to the public. Local vendors will be selling food and merchandise. The Multicultural Festival is sponsored by San Ysidro Health and Family Health Centers of San Diego.
