You are invited to the 28th annual grass-roots El Dia de los Muertos celebration in downtown City Heights. This day people of all cultures come together to celebrate the lives of their friends and relatives who have passed away. This celebration provides a great opportunity for residents and agencies in the area to work together to better community cohesion--improving the health and well being of residents in City Heights.
Experience beautiful family and organizations' altars, and festive, colorful entertainment the whole time. There is something for everyone. Kids and adults will enjoy youth performances from Fern Street Circus, and participating in a drum lesson with Drummers Without Borders (giant banner and drum parade to follow in the park.)
Sabor a mi Tierra Grupo Folklorico will dance, and Rick and Friends, among other musical groups, will enchant all with their historical harmonies.
Indulge in ethnic food truck fare. For the young ones, expect a bouncy zone. Mask making with San Diego Guild of Puppetry is for young and young-at-heart.
