Principal Guest Conductor Edo de Waart leads the Orchestra in a richly varied program beginning with Aaron Copland’s legendary portrait of rural America, Appalachian Spring.

The exquisitely talented Dutch violinist Simone Lamsma plays Erich Korngold’s Hollywood-inspired Violin Concerto and, to finish, Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8 sends us out filled with optimism and a love of the countryside and the natural world.

Date | Saturday, January 15 at 8 p.m., and Sunday, January 16 at 2 p.m. at the San Diego Civic Theatre.
