Ever wonder what it takes to make a video game? In this 5-day program, students will learn the basics of video game development and design using the Scratch programming language to build their own games. Software and equipment provided. No experience necessary.
Registration required. Program will be held inside the Lloyd De Lamas Community Room at San Ysidro Library. Program is intended for ages 8-12 and grades 3-6.
San Ysidro Library
The San Ysidro Library is located at 4235 Beyer Boulevard, west of Interstate 805. The library opened on Sept. 7, 2019 and serves the communities of San Ysidro and Otay Mesa West. As an educational resource and gathering space for the community, the library expects to have more than 55,000 patron visits a year. The 15,000 square-foot facility was designed with input from the community and is more than three-times the size of the original San Ysidro Library, built in 1924. It features modern amenities, including designated children and teen areas, study and meeting spaces, a computer lab, a maker space with 3D printer, a multi-purpose community room and an outdoor movie screen.
