A photography exhibition with two artists who work with historical photographic processes to celebrate women in two unique ways. New Mexico artist Karen Hymer uses the Gravure process to create self portraits which explore beauty and aging. San Francisco artist Jenny Sampson works with wet plate tintype portraits of girl skateboarders.
Both of these 19th century processes are enjoying a resurgence today. The content, intent and warmth of Hymer and Sampson’s artworks make a remarkable connection in this exhibition of and about women.
Enjoy the exhibition at The Photographer's Eye from Saturday, March 19 through Saturday, April 23, and join us for the Artist Talk on March 19 at 4:30 p.m. followed by an opening reception.
