Mexican President Vicente Fox talked about U.S. immigration reform during a visit to Tijuana's largest maquiladora Thursday. KPBS reporter Ana Tintocalis has more.
Fox wore a white cowboy hat as he shook hands with factory workers outside the Plamex Factory. During a tour of the facility, the Mexican president spoke to workers about the U.S.-lead effort to overhaul immigration policies. Fox says the American people and the U.S. government need to treat Mexico with dignity.
He says, "he people of the United States need to respect the people of Mexico. Do not look down on us. And do not discriminate against us."
Fox says he wants to work with the U.S. Government in drafting an immigration program that makes sense. Ana Tintocalis, KPBS News.
