Local Lawyer Announces Bid to Unseat Aguirre as City Attorney
San Diego lawyer Amy Lepine announced her bid today to unseat incumbent City Attorney Mike Aguirre.
Lepine is not well known at City Hall, but she says voters want someone new.
Lepine : They're kind of sick of hearing about all the in-fighting that's going on. They're sick of the gridlock at City Hall and what they want is someone who can bring them some change, who's got some new ideas, creativity, who knows when to litigate and when to cooperate.
Lepine is a Democrat and former deputy of Aguirre's. Lepine's sexual harrassment lawsuit against Aguirre is pending. Also in the race are Superior Court Judge Jan Goldsmith, City Councilman Brian Maienschein, City Council President Scott Peters and local attorney Dan Coffey.
