Utility hook-up problems are delaying the opening of the new 304-bed patient tower at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego's Kearny Mesa area.
The $200 million glass tower had been expected to open next month, but Sharp officials now say construction problems will delay the opening until November.
The main problem is aligning utility systems between the existing hospital and the new tower. The contractor and hospital officials say delays are common in large projects.
