Crisis In Japan: Here's How To Help

In New Taipei City, Taiwan, relief goods were ready Sunday to be shipped to Japan.

Americans are always generous when others are in need. For those looking for ways to help the people in Japan who are suffering from Friday's devastating earthquake and the tsunamis it generated:

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is linking to InterAction.org's list of "appropriate disaster relief" organizations now working in Japan. There are 22 organization's on InterAction's list as of now and it has contact/donation information for each.

Here they are. Each is linked to its website. And just to be clear, these are the organizations that USAID, through InterAction, is pointing people to. NPR is not trying to steer anyone toward any organization.
