San Diego State fans will gather in Mission Valley Thursday evening for a watch party as the Aztecs men's basketball team takes on New Mexico State in the 2014 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament in Spokane, Wash.
The game is scheduled to tip off just before 7 p.m. and will be watched at Randy Jones All-American Sports Grill at 7510 Hazard Center Drive, according to the San Diego State University Alumni Association, which is hosting the watch party, along with the Aztec Club.
The Aztecs received the fourth seed in the tournament's West Region; New Mexico State is the 13th-seed.
If the Aztecs (29-4) defeat the Aggies (26-9), they will face the winner of Saturday's game between fifth-seeded Oklahoma and 12th-seeded North Dakota State in Spokane.
New Mexico State won the Western Athletic Conference tournament after finishing second in conference play. The Aggies are coached by Marvin Menzies, a San Diego State assistant coach in 1999-2003.
