The county of San Diego will resume Saturday wedding ceremonies after the service was eliminated six years ago as a recession-era budget reduction, County Clerk Ernest Dronenburg Jr. announced Wednesday.
He said weddings and marriage licenses will be offered on the third Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Kearny Mesa office at 9225 Clairemont Mesa Blvd., beginning June 20.
"We are always looking for better ways to serve the public," Dronenburg said. "This has been a long time coming and a goal of mine since I took office."
Civil weddings and marriage licenses will be handled only by appointments, which can be made by calling (619) 237-0502.
Customers will also be able to obtain birth, marriage, and death certificates; and register Fictitious Business Name statements.
