A San Diego State University researcher has developed a new web application that may help teachers overcome their own implicit biases.

EQUIP or Equity Quantified in Participation is a free and open-source application which aims to promote fair and inclusive teaching. To use, teachers input student demographic and participation data. The app then generates a detailed analysis that can help an instructor, for instance, track whether he or she is unintentionally excluding certain students from classroom instruction.

Daniel Reinholz, an SDSU assistant professor of math worked with a researcher at Michigan State University to create the application.
