Award-winning TV host, food journalist and cookbook author Andreas Viestad returns for more culinary adventures in this season of NEW SCANDINAVIAN COOKING. Shot on location in Andreas' native Norway and other exotic locales, the series offers a rich visual tour of Nordic cuisine, culture and history.
In each episode, Andreas makes tantalizing dishes in stunning outdoor locations using locally sourced vegetables, grains, cheese, fish, beef and lamb. This season, Andreas cooks atop an active volcano in Iceland, prepares a succulent lamb dish in the mountainous Hallingskarvet region and travels to St. Lucia in the West Indies to discover the origins of cocoa.
"Packed To Go" - A packed lunch is an important part of the Scandinavian food tradition and is taken just as seriously as dinner. In this episode, Andreas shares his favorite bread recipe, makes a healthy liver paté and creates a delicious honey crusted ham. In addition, chef Esben Holmboe Bang from Maaemo, one of Oslo’s best restaurants, shares advice on making the most of Norway’s wild herbs.
