A third consecutive day of strong Santa Ana winds is in store for San Diego County Wednesday, meteorologists said.
The National Weather Service issued a red flag warning for inland valley and mountain areas until 6 p.m., saying the strong winds coupled with single- digit humidity levels could contribute to extreme wildfire behavior through Wednesday afternoon. A red flag warning is the weather service's most serious fire- related warning.
Sustained wind speeds Wednesday were expected to range from 5 to 15 miles per hour, with gusts up to 35 mph, according to the weather service.
