Two Iraqi Journalists Are Killed; Worked for ABC

Two Iraqi journalists working for ABC News were killed this week by unknown assailants in Baghdad. The men were identified as cameraman Alaa Uldeen Aziz, 33, and soundman Saif Laith Yousuf, 26.

Their deaths re-emphasize the dangers of reporting in Iraq — particularly for Iraqi journalists who have been hired by Western news agencies, including NPR. Often, it is Iraqi journalists who do most of the news gathering in the country's most dangerous areas.
