The gears are greased and the wheels are rolling on a potential bike-sharing program in San Diego.

San Diego Council To Vote On Bike Sharing Program
Bike sharing in San Diego may clear another hurdle on its way to becoming reality.

This week, the City Council is set to vote on a private-public partnership with DecoBike, a company that has brought bikes to cities in Florida and New York.

DecoBike will build, set up and own the bike sharing system in San Diego. It will also make money from rental fees and advertising.

If the City Council approves the deal, DecoBike will hold public meetings to figure out just where the bike stations will go.

The company expects to start the program in San Diego early next year.
