Pipeline Break Disrupts North County

A pipeline break disrupted water service to scores of residents in a North County neighborhood for about six hours today.

The water-main rupture on Jerez Court in Carlsbad occurred for unknown reasons between 8 and 8:30 a.m., city spokeswoman Rachel McGuire said.

The mishap left homes on that street and nearby Navarra Drive without water service, affecting a total of about 140 residents, according to McGuire.

Crews had service restored to the entire area by about 2 p.m., she said.

The cause of the break was under investigation.
