The boy's condition was updated on the Deerhorn Valley Facebook page. His sister posted that he underwent anti-venin treatment and that doctors say he will be fine.

According to the California Poison Control Center, nearly 800 people are bitten each year. Most bites happen between April and October when rattlesnakes, and people, are most active outdoors.
